Join Us

The Tata Nexon EV is a fully electric compact SUV from Tata Motors, a major Indian automaker. Launched in 2020 and receiving a facelift in September 2023, it has become a popular choice for those seeking an eco-friendly and feature-rich SUV experience. Here’s a closer look at what the Tata Nexon EV offers:

Performance and Range:

The Nexon EV comes in multiple variants with varying battery capacities, translating to a driving range of 325km to 465km on a single charge ( ARAI certified). This range makes it suitable for city commutes and even moderate highway trips. The electric motor provides good acceleration, achieving 0-100 km/h in a brisk 9.2 seconds (depending on the variant). While top speed is electronically limited to 150 km/h, the focus here is on efficient and sustainable mobility.

Charging Options and Convenience:

The Nexon EV can be charged using a regular 15A household socket, which takes around 8 hours for a full charge. However, for faster charging, it supports a 7.2 kW AC fast charger that takes 4 hours 30 minutes for a full charge. Additionally, some variants offer DC fast charging capability, which can replenish up to 80% of the battery in just 60 minutes, perfect for long journeys.

Stylish Design and Features:

The Nexon EV boasts a modern and stylish design that aligns with its electric character. The updated front grille with a blanked-out section and sleek LED lighting add a futuristic touch. The spacious cabin offers a comfortable five-seater layout with premium materials and a plethora of features. A panoramic sunroof, a 31.24 cm touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a digital instrument cluster, and automatic climate control are some of the highlights. Safety is well addressed with six airbags, ABS with EBD, and other electronic aids.

Variants and Pricing:

The Tata Nexon EV comes in six trims, categorized as Creative, Fearless, and Empowered, with varying battery capacities and feature sets. Prices start from ₹ 14.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base variant and go up to ₹ 19.49 lakh for the top-end Dark edition (prices as of April 2024). This range caters to a diverse set of customer preferences and budgets.

Advantages and Considerations:

The Nexon EV’s biggest advantages are its eco-friendly nature, competitive pricing compared to other electric SUVs in India, spacious cabin, and feature-rich interior. Government incentives for electric vehicles further enhance its appeal. However, potential buyers should consider factors like charging infrastructure availability outside major cities and the relatively higher running cost compared to a petrol or diesel SUV, especially for long journeys.
